Welcome

Our San Diego Chapter is a vibrant, engaged group of nurse leaders spanning clinical practice, academia, and industry that meet monthly to connect, network, and discuss the top nursing issues of the day. Our members include nurse managers, nurse executives, nursing consultants, nursing professors, and emerging nurse leaders as well. In addition to a focus on professional development, our chapter also prioritizes community outreach, with our current initiatives revolving around elder care and placement.

We are the voice of San Diego's nurse leaders.

Scholarship Opportunities

ACNL offers scholarships, including the Nurses' Float and Pamela Jane Nye Scholarships, which are awarded at ACNL's Annual Conference in February. See below for more details.

ACNL Scholarship

In support of leadership excellence and lifelong learning, ACNL sponsors academic scholarships and fellowships annually for our members.

ACNL awards scholarships which support the registered nurse in:

· expanding leadership acumen through advanced study

· pursuing a higher degree to meet community or organizational need

· advancing nursing knowledge through research conduct and dissemination

Scholarships are awarded to nurses who are matriculated, at least halftime, in a school which furthers their knowledge and contributions to the public, including patients, families, students, communities, schools of nursing, or research, etc.

Selection is determined through a committee process and is based upon the applicant meeting eligibility criteria, completion of the application documents, and available funds. Scholarships are awarded based on dollars available in the scholarship fund and the number of individuals who have applied.

Membership in ACNL is not required to apply.

Nurses' Float Scholarship

The Nurses' Float Scholarship Fund was created by Bare Root, Inc., a not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 organization, from funds remaining from the Nurse's Float which appeared in the 2013 Rose Parade. ACNL, in partnership with Bare Root, Inc., presents the Nurses' Float Scholarship annually. This is an academic scholarship awarded to a registered nurse pursuing either an ADN to BSN or BSN to MSN degree.

Membership in ACNL or California residency is NOT required to apply for the Nurse’s Float Scholarship.
